Residential / Synthetic shake & slate

The look of slate and shake, without the weight.

Natural quarried slate for the homes that call for it, and composite slate and shake systems that hold their color and their impact rating for decades, at a fraction of the dead load.

How it’s built

Natural slate

Quarried slate laid with proper headlap and copper flashing, for a roof measured in generations rather than years.

Synthetic slate & shake

Class 4 impact-rated composite that will not crack, curl, or fade — engineered to lay and weather like the material it replaces.

Lighter on the structure

Composite systems run a fraction of the weight of natural slate, opening up roof designs a structural engineer would otherwise limit.
